Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How can a small firm offer a wide variety of legal services?

A: Pinta & Schwartzberg’s clients can have their particular legal needs in many diverse areas addressed by experts in the specific field through the Firm’s close affiliation with attorneys experienced in those areas. These attorneys are designated as being “of counsel” to the Firm.

Q: What is “of counsel” and how does it affect me as a consumer of legal services?

A: The designation of “of counsel” signifies that the attorney so listed maintains a professional relationship with the Firm though is not a member or an employee of the Firm. Typically, the “of counsel” attorney has a particular area or areas of expertise and is regularly called upon by the Firm to provide legal services to a client whose legal needs can then be fully and expertly serviced. This enables our Firm to offer high-caliber experienced legal services that are both cost-effective and the legal equivalent of “state-of-the-art.” Our “of counsel” attorneys specialize in administration of estates, probate and taxation; a wide range of personal injury claims; and real estate work ranging from individual home purchases to complex commercial transactions.

Q: How do I know if my disability insurance company is violating the terms of my policy?

A: Pinta & Schwartzberg, LLP has evaluated and handled many situations in which individuals have had disputes with their disability insurance carrier. Since each situation is unique, Pinta & Schwartzberg, LLP will be happy to meet with you and preliminarily evaluate your claim at no cost or obligation.

Q: How can Pinta & Schwartzberg, LLP be simultaneously cost-effective and responsive to my particular needs?

A: Pinta & Schwartzberg, LLP strives to provide effective and creative legal counsel and representation to its clients. A key element in so doing is ‘partnering’ with the client in every step of the process. A free-flow of communication between client and attorney promotes cost-effectiveness by informing the client of proposed strategies, actions and developments as they occur. The client is aware of costs and fees on an ongoing basis and participates in all decision-making processes, thereby having direct knowledge and a say over all financial matters.

Q: How can I determine if my situation warrants legal counsel or intervention?

A: Pinta & Schwartzberg, LLP offers initial consultations of up to one hour at no cost to the potential client. You will meet with and have your questions addressed by an experienced attorney, not a paralegal or recent law school graduate. In most instances, you will be promptly informed as to your legal rights, potential causes of action and/or options available during this consultation.
